Also known as “Ilha de Faro”, this stretch of sand forms part of the Ancão Peninsula, which borders the west Ria Formosa and from where you can get a privileged view over the mountains and the city of Faro.
It is actually a long peninsula and not an island. Chaos is the word that best characterizes the urbanization over the dunes, the boats in the estuary, the towels on the beach and the traffic in the accesses. The numerous terraces and warm waters are the main arguments in its favor. Located near the university and the airport (LPFR), it is very popular with residents of the city of Faro.
Road access is via a narrow bridge across the Ria Formosa. In summer, the “island of Faro” is also accessible by boat through the Portas do Sol pier. It is possible to make a beach on the narrow sandy cord facing north, towards a Ria Formosa channel. The use of this water plane is great for water sports (jetski, canoeing, rowing, windsurfing, sailing, etc.). At the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro, initiation to Nautical Modalities is made available to the public, equipment for sailing, windsurfing and canoeing.

I think you made a mistake when uploading the new version. Due to the content and folder structure of the compressed file and its weight, you have uploaded the city of Faro, not the island of Faro.

Sorry, it was a mistake, I already reported to the support to see if I can recover the file, the update is for the city of Faro.
