Swissair was Switzerland's former national airline and a prominent carrier in the aviation industry. It was founded in 1931 and operated for several decades as a symbol of Swiss aviation excellence and reliability.
Swissair was renowned for its high-quality service, punctuality, and a strong focus on passenger comfort. It had a comprehensive network of routes covering both European and intercontinental destinations.
However, in the early 2000s, Swissair faced severe financial difficulties due to a combination of factors, including mismanagement, overexpansion, and the broader challenges affecting the airline industry after the September 11, 2001 attacks. These issues led to a significant crisis, and in 2001, Swissair ceased operations and declared bankruptcy.
Out of the remnants of Swissair, Swiss International Air Lines (commonly known as SWISS) emerged. SWISS, established as a new airline, took over some of Swissair's routes, staff, and infrastructure. It began operations in 2002 and continues to operate as Switzerland's national carrier, maintaining a reputation for quality service and reliability.
A Thai, an Etihad, a Finnair or a Philippine Air Lines would be nice as well.
Thanks!
