Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong.
Closed in 1998 and not in the sim obviously.
This is something of a work in progress and not an exact replica as the modern satellite photos of the ruins are a proper mess so some of it needed covering up.
These days several roads cross the site so you'll be enjoying a steady stream of cars plus a wonderful light show at night that can't be removed.
Due to the limitations of the site and the program to fiddle with it, and myself of course, I think this is always going to be something of a cartoon airport, but always a fun one too.
I can't figure out how to place or modify an approach pattern, or if that's possible at all with a scratch built airport, so if you want to do the approach this airport is famous for you'll need to place yourself manually.
1.1 Has been cleaned up a fair bit with plenty more detail added like full fencing and more ground markings and aprons.
1.2 All of the parking spaces have been added and a much more exact approximation of the apron layout completed.
1.3 Has a very cool scratch built replica of the original terminal made by Srinivasman - https://flightsim.to/profile/srinivasman
Other than that highlight, taxiways have been repaired. Taxiway signs and proper ATC have been added. Better ground markings have been applied but I still to need find more photos of the original set up. A more detailed freight terminal has been made. I think I stuck some ILS in there but I always seem to balls that up so it probably don't work.
Issues -
The taxiway signs are microscopic despite being the right size in the development program.
I can't add jetways as it guarantees a crash to desktop.
My quest for a non silly checkerboard hill is... still silly. You may get a surprise pop in. A beacon has been added to the same spot.
I have developed an irrational loathing of the top right corner of the airport so will need to seek medical treatment before I can improve it, don't look too close up there.
Both the ATC and AI only want to go to runway 31, I have no idea why, so you're going to have to force runway 13 before spawning.
Despite being the right scale it seems weirdly cramped in places. Maybe Hong Kong insisted on mini 747s back in the day. If your wings do saw through several other planes on your way out just floor it and don't come back.
The ICAO has been changed to VXXX as the sim was rejecting the correct one.
Doesnt show up in world map...

I don't know his name..it is great. I notice that the lights on roadway and taxiway kinda look like they are floating above ground..Is there a way to get ai's to fly the checkerboard to 13..All mine take off from 31 headed north northeast...Change the wind direction from south to north? Thanks for the great work...Maybe if you can figure out who ali501 is you could collaborate
Thanks!!!!

Recently Asobo added only runway to default scenery and with your mod I get two runways layered. Is there a way to exclude one runway?
Cheers

I contacted Samscene and yes they have another scenery without the ship terminal. However, that will eliminate that building but the scenery won't be the current in Hong Kong as MSFS scenery is the latest. However, it was not Samscene addon on that cause the issue , the building comes with MSFS scenery.

It seems that this was the first indication of lights on a terrace. Then they followed the points of a light on poles.
