This is my first proper attempt of a google map export. St. Albans is a historic city just North West of London, visible on flight paths from London airports. The model comprises 5 Lods for performance and textures are colour corrected using Paint Shop Pro to blend in well with stock scenery. I experimented with keeping the google trees or stripping out to use the auto-gen trees. My personal prefernce in the end was to keep the google trees, but these needed adjustment using texture painting in blender due to trees being too light in relation to surrounding scenery. Models are also edited usual natural borders avoiding cut through of buildings. I have also added emmisive textures extensively for building lighting, I had always disliked the look of google map scenery at night appearing to depict a massive power outage for the area. I have tested on a medium level PC with settings customised between Ultra and High with acceptable results. My PC for refernce is runnding an NVidia 3060.
To install simple extract the StAlbans-City-Centre folder into the community folder.
I'm running a RTX 4090 so it can take this frame rate abuse.
Again cheers!
