On December 4th, 1958, Robert Timm and John Cook took off from McCarran Airport (KLAS) in an effort to break the record for longest flight.
The flight was sponsored by the Hacienda Hotel and Casino. The owners of the Hacienda expected their grand opening to struggle for attendance due to its distance from the Las Vegas Strip. (At the time, that is. Las Vegas was not the bustling city it is today. The Hacienda was demolished by implosion on December 31st, 1996. The Mandalay Bay now sits in its place.)
The previous record for continuous flight was 50 days, 18 minutes, 20 seconds, set September 21st, 1958.
Robert and John landed back at McCarran airport on February 7th, 1959 with a total flight time of 64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes, 5 seconds, shattering the previous record by 2 weeks.
The aircraft now hangs above McCarran Airport terminal 1 baggage claim. It has been over 60 years since this record was set. No one has been crazy enough to attempt it since.

Base Product
This add-on is related to Cessna 172.
This is a very cool plane with an awesome story behind it. I wish it had a G1000 version as well, but I can understand the creator striving for accuracy since its a record holding plane and it currently still exists on display.
Amazing work and great attention to detail! Thanks for sharing your time, talent, and creativity to make this piece of aviation & Vegas history fly again.
