RTMM DISPATCH MS005 - This is from RTMM (Return to Misty Moorings). Most of our work was done for FSX and P3D, we have over 700 scenery locations and flight plans for them. We are now beginning to work with FS2020, starting with the Dispatches. this is not only a flight plan that you can unzip and put into your simulator, it also comes with a detailed, written "dispatch" that will tell you about each WayPoint along the way. You get historical, geographical information as well as specific VFR instructions to make the trip easier for you. All WayPoints have a small screenshot so that you can anticipate what happens next in your flight.

INSTALLATION - Download the flight plan zip and load it when you start the flightsim. Once it is loaded and ready, you bring up the Dispatch that you can get "FREE" by clicking HERE, it is simply a web page. You can view it on a tablet or second monitor while you fly the plan. If you need help in how to USE the Dispatch on a single monitor, you can view the "how-to" video HERE.

OVERVIEW

SCENARIO - Your flight plan starts in Sitka AK at PASI. You are taking a customer fishing at Goulding Lake, one of the most famous fishing lakes north of Sitka, AK. On a clear day, you can fly direct, but with typical bad weather, you stay at 1200 feet. Also, the customer has requested a "Flight-Seeing" trip as well as a fishing trip, so this is another reason to fly low and slow. The Dispatch below will give you the talking points for the trip. You return from Goulding Lake via the Coastal route that gives the customer a different vista for the return trip to Sitka.

If you have an amphibian, you should land on Goulding Lake and explore it. Also, the next lake to the north, Otter Lake, is a great fishing lake and another one to explore. The fish species in these lakes are Dolly Varden and cutthroat.

  • NOTAM: Non-Amphibian - If you do not have an amphibian, you can use a "wheeled" aircraft and just fly low over the fishing zones.

WEATHER - This is best flown with Scattered Clouds, but to keep it real, live weather is best. Our flight plans are all designed for the "low and slow" flight. All the locations and destinations in this flight plan are real. The weather will make the greatest difference in your flight.

AIRCRAFT - This should be flown with an amphibian (The Little Bird L19 is an excellent choice). You will be landing on the water in two places. (NOTAM: If you don't have an amphibian you can still fly the dispatch, it starts and ends at PASI, Sitka (wheeled takeoff and landing). You will just have to do a low pass over the fishing zones.

FLIGHT INFORMATION - Although the overall flight safe altitude is 1200 feet, there is one WayPoint that requires 3400' (EDGE). So you can maintain 1200 feet throughout the flight except for this single WayPoint ... and it is NOTED in the Dispatch for you.

SUMMARY - We hope you enjoy this trip. If you have never been to Alaska and wonder what a "real" fishing trip there is like by floatplane, this is your chance to virtually experience a classic.
