Beast One - Building the best Microjet in the world

We are a group of skilled dedicated people, entitled to develop the safest and most awesome Microjet in the world! We thought ourselves: "What would James Bond choose to fly?" The "Beast One" is the answer, featuring state of the art aerodynamics, carbon monocoque technology as used in formula one racing and all safety features you can think of.

With a MTOW of 380kg and aerobatic capabilities, this artpiece of carbon will be the next cool gadget for anybody wanting to own his/her own jet with no compromises at only the cost of an average four seater. Economic cruising at 230kt or landing on grass with a stall speed of only 52kt? Getting the 500$ burger or pulling up to 13.5G? Just name it, the Beast is your aircraft of choice!

How to fly:
  • Before engine start: Turn on battery, turn on Nav/Pos/Strobe lights, activate the starter - as easy as it gets
  • Taxi: Turn on Landing lights (taxi setting will follow in later revision)
  • Short field procedure: Use flaps 15° for short field operation (below 2000ft field length), otherwise flaps up.
  • Rotate at 70kt and climb initially at 90kt. Then accelerate to 120kt cruise climb while reducing thrust to 90% and retract the gear, turn off landing lights
  • Cruise: reduce the thrust setting to roughly 50% and cruise at 230kt. High speed cruise up to 300kt possible (requires MCT thrust in reality)
  • Descend: activate landing lights an reduce thrust to zero. Descend at 150-230kt
  • Approach: level off until speed drops to 150kt. Use spoilers (available but not modeled yet) if required. Flaps 15° and gear down short before final. Flaps 40° after turning final
Attention: this aircraft is not finished yet and will not be for some time, as the real aircraft is undergoing some changes in cockpit and tail design.

If you don't wish to give a five star rating, just leave it be for the time being. Updates will be made on a regular base. Version 0.3.1:
  • The thumbnail in the aircraft selection now shows the correct aircraft instead of the DA62
  • The 3D model has been improved in the cockpit area
  • Mesh complexity of the flaps has been reduced to improve performance on low end PC's
Version 0.3.0:

This is the first usable version. The cockpit is not modeled yet except for the Garmin G3X and some switches. The gear/pilot/etc. are only rough placeholders and there is the known bug, that it sometimes starts with empty tanks (refill via the menu). The fligh model is not yet accurate and textures are mostly missing. Still, it is sufficient to get a first glimpse and have some fun.

The working G3X mod is recommended for the best experience: Download G3X mod

pretty agile but it is a quite slow-for-a-jet-plane

Physics is a bitch... Not possible to have both low landing speeds, easy handling and high end speed. It is in the same regime as small jets like a Cirrus or Mustang.

This little jet has quickly become my favorite aircraft to fly. What a perfect little machine. I can't wait to see where you take this!

Hello Scheny, I have one question and that is if you develop this thing only for the sim or irl to.
The addon is really well done too, I am loocking forward to the next update.

In real life. I only created the MSFS to get the feel before the real one is finished. As soon as the real one is in the next design iteration, there will be a major update for the MSFS with the fuselage, cockpit and textures.

😃Thanks for the answer, I wish you a ton of luck and
success for the Project in real life and for the sim 😃

I love this project, both the real life and the simulator. I've flown the simulator and sure would like to try the plane also in real life.
I'm flying a Vans RV-4 in real life and this plane is the most alike that I have found for MSFS. As long as there is no RV-4 for the sim, I will use this one. It handle just as you can expect from a small plane of this type. Not at all to sensitive. This is not an airliner and shall not have that characteristic. I would say it have the right feeling. It also compares well in other aspects with the RV-4, just a bit faster... 😉
I fly the sim in VR and it's really good, but there is a small note. I have to hold the goggles behind my neck when I set the position, otherwise I sit to far aft. But it's not a big issue.
I look forward to follow your project, both the RL and for the sim. Sending you a small donation and urge others to do the same, and wish you a bright future.

Thanks very much, highly appreciated! We just finished CFD testing and the wings and most of the fuselage were 99% as expected. Now I do some minor changes to the nose and tail cone, then I will also update the sim.

The RV are really good aircraft and I am honoured that the Beast follows its behavior. A 150hp at half the weight makes a difference 😉

As for the cockpit, it is not yet the real cockpit. It will be modeled after the nose changes are done.

This plane is awesome. So versatile. Would also be cool if you could land in the water with it.

Flying boats and speed are not best friends 😉

Always exceptions, such as the Martin P6M

This Plane is good but to sensitive.

This is because of the flight model in MSFS. I have to do a compromise between low and high speed handling. In reality it is tuned for low speeds and with higher speeds the control forces will rise by a lot, therefore restricting angular movement. But in the game, the joystick always has the same resistance, so it is hard to control at high speeds.

I am trying finding a workaround.

It is not only a replacement for MSFS, but also in real life. You can follow the project on Twitter or Facebook.

Overall, good plane, just a few issues. That's why I will be giving you a 4-star rating.

Ok, now to the minor issues I discovered during my flight.

    - Its a known problem but cockpit and exterior textures are not there
    - Don't know if you are aware of this one, but on full throttle, the N1 jumps from full to about 70% and just keeps doing that
    - When on 0% cockpit camera zoom the view appears to be in the headrest

The throttle issue is due to the MSFS fuel controller algorithm which is optimized for huge engines. For this tiny engine with less inertia and higher rpm it goes havoc sometimes and I will need a lot of playing with the values to get it right.

As for the camera, it is located "inside" the head of the pilot. I will later change it, that the head is removed when you are inside the aircraft.
